If I was going to pop up to 30K on a sports car, I'd go with the RX-8 myself. Great reviews, and the one that I've driven was fantastic.

I loved the one I drove (my neighbour had one) but I hate the local Mazda dealership. R&T (or C&D, forget which) did a long-term test that showed they were still shaking out some bugs. Plus, I still want a soft-top.
