lol, sure. when you come to spain i'll do commando/free cooking for you sometime. nothing under the hakama... err i mean, apron! wahaha

now on topic, and aside from the dirty references i've heard of, i've used broken slats to build two shoto (since i do nito casually) and, the world famous suburiator 4000®: http://www.livejournal.com/users/paburo/20672.html

also, my dad has used broken slats to fix stuff and home improvement galore. i just don't remember all his gadjets.
