at least there's no "shootings" in Asian schools, or is there?
Comparing violence in Japan and violence in America is like comparing apples and bananas. You may not get school shootings in Japan (because there are no guns) but how often do you have a kid in the US cut off the head of another kid and leave it displayed at the gate of the school? Or a young girl slashing another girls throat and letting her bleed to death in the middle of school for writing something 'bad' about her on a website? You don't often read about a kid killing his parents with a hammer while asleep, and then setting off a gas exsplosion all because the father was 'hard on him'. Less violence here but when it happens it's quite gruesome.
And the Japanese fear of violence in other countries is irrational. I don't care if I get flamed for this, they are pretty clueless as to how the rest of the world is.
To whoever asked about the punishment, they probably got a slap on the wrist like every other criminal in Japan.
