I hear tell that there's an American Remake of Battle Royale in the works, but I haven't found any solid evidence yet. Has anyone else heard about this?

This has been a long standing rumour, but I've not seen any proof of it yet. I really can't imagine anyone getting funding for an American BR remake given all the school violence that has been happening in North America recently.

Anything is possible of course, but I would imagine political reactionaries would tee off on the idea.
