Unless you can magically change what made you break up in the first place, without actually changing who you are and she is, then just let it go. Break ups happen for a reason. The time between the break up and the ability to move on can vary and may take a long time, so it may take some time for you to let go, but if you don't accept the possibility that you shouldn't be with her, then you are going to drive yourself crazy. Just be open to the possibility that maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Don't look for a chance to start the relationship again. Move on with your life, don't fawn over her, be her friend though and help but not more than you would any other normal friend, move on and if it was meant to be then you will get back together naturally without the effort of chasing her down.

Love falls in the category of things that come to people when they are not actively looking for it. Those who chase it usually drive themselves crazy or into a depression when it doesn't answer...
