Actually, if you look at the guy on the right, when he does hold the shinai with two hands and by his stance, you can tell he’s had some kendo training, which is why he easily beats the other to guys.
I actually know the kid, he’s 16, not ranked but has a couple of years under his belt. Even adapting to the “rules” the other guys are playing, like leg shots and using one arm or leg when hit, he still holds his own against them. He even uses a little kiai when attacking. Not the prettiest sight, but it’s cool to see even a beginner kendoka school some backyard ninjas.
