On topic, I saw a band recently whose members all wore kabuki masks, and wore a different type of traditional Japanese clothing.
One of them was wearing a hakama.

I believe the name of the band was "Daikaiju".
They tend to play nerdy conventions like DragonCon. (the kind of places my ass hangs out at)
