Question for the british guys, I understand that there are two Kendo federations/association in Britain. I know about the BKA as being the official body of Kendo in the country, have often visited their site and sometimes talked with people.

I heard about the BKR and checked their site, the main difference I see is that they are not shiai oriented but I didn't find much more info. Are they part of the WKF?, do they do ZNKR Kendo?, was just a Kendo split in the UK?

In other words, what is the difference (other than size)

Cheers,

JCM
As I understand it they are members of the DNBK not the ZNKR. They provide their own gradings (which I would guess are presided over from distance in some fashion by the DNBK) and competitions (I believe) and are not members of the FIK or EKF.

I believe the split was personal as well, but as with most things of nature the original disputes are more than likely fogged with the mists of time leaving just gripes and veiled attacks at people and activities.

Oh, and this whole thing is best left in the past.
