Love hotels eh. Well I can tell you that the majority of love hotels aren't as spectacular as most Western publications would make out. Sure there are a good number in big cities that have strange and wonderous rooms to make use of, but the majority are just dingy hotel rooms with a largeish bath and free porn on the telly. I guess most people frequent them because they still live at home with their parents and they cant bring their boyfriend/girlfriend/SF home.

There is a fairly seedy side to Japan - blowjob bars, soapland (formerly turoko), etc, but I would venture that most men actually just go to snack bars and pay a large amount of money for a nice looking young girl to pour them drinks and tell them how great they are.

There's a wierd naievete about sex in Japan. You can go into a video shop to find that 50% of the videos they have are porn (my local video shop), find graphic magazines on the shelf of a convenience store easily in reach of children, and yet people still skulk into love hotels under the cover of darkness and don't talk about STD's.

I'm not even going to get into the 援助交際 and ロリコン shit that happens here sometimes. Man that pisses me off.
