Wouldn't just the fact that they aren't even stating which swordmasters he has been training with bring up enough suspicion?

I think that when you would have trained for 45 years you would be mentioning with which masters you have trained and which styles and which degrees you would have in any kinda martial art.

Just my vision of this all
