Hey Owen,
We were all 15 once (some of us never seem to get any older emotionally - like me).
Just apply yourself to kendo as you have in the forums, give it your all and your best, and yes, it's frustratingly slow sometimes, it seems you take 3 steps forward and 4 steps back, but as long as you learn something every time, you haven't missed an opportunity.
Rely heavily on your dojomates to help you along with your learning - that's what they're there for. They had to start at the bottom of the ladder, just like all of us did, from the newest member to 8th dan.
