Have you tried putting it to them that you're too young for a job, and anyway, don't want it to get in the way of your school work, but you want some money of your own so you can have fun with your friends/save (whatever it is you want it for) and it would be a good way of learning to handle money before you have to 'go it alone'? Also tell them you're willing to work for it, with your chores.
