Hit directly? Not so much, but neither do most places, to my knowledge. It's pretty well random. We did have one 4.x that hit while I was living here, centered inside Takayama City I think.

We are, however, very close to the point where all the plates meet up. I think that may be just a little east of here, but it's pretty close if I remember correctly. Though yes, when it's typhoon season (as it is now) we tend to be prone to flooding. The big one that hit three years ago managed to do some serious damage all around the city.
