Prize: Each individual member of the First Place Winning Couple will receive a cash scholarship of $3,000.00. The school that hosted the First Place Winning Couple's prom will receive a cash prize of $3,000.00.

So basically they make about $500 after paying off Mike W's credit card, which they used for buying all that ducktape

. Enough for a low-end bougu, but a bougu none-the-less.
