Looks like Kotooshu got over the sidestep issue he's been having and coming on straight now. That was pretty much the only "qualitative" issue holding him back from making yokozuna. Now he's just got to win a few more basho and I'd think he'd be the first caucasian to make yokozuna. Not a big fan of Asashoryu though as he just doesn't seem to have the right attitude to be yokozuna. Hakuho on the other hand seems to show the right character, and I think Kotooshu would too. Incidentally, I think the last active Japanese yokozuna was Takanohana, but the last one to make yokozuna was his brother Wakanohana.
