Hey, I was wondering if anyone here has bought this game on the DS and how good it might be. I already have Tadashii Kanji: Kakitori Kun, but learning kanji is kinda useless without knowing much vocabulary to back things up.

My Japanese Coach is supposed to have 10,000 words across 1,000 lessons, but my main concerns are about how much romaji the software relies on or how well the game helps with vocabulary education and retention.

Of course, I am open to other forms of vocabulary learning if ya got any ideas. I would consider myself of the intermediate range since I know about 200 of the kanji and can read a good amount of text, just not able to understand it as well as I would like.
It's an ok program. Don't put too much emphasis on the writing exercises, as the stroke order is sometimes incorrect. It's also relatively easy to make it through the lessons without actually learning anything. I think it's too easy to advance, and there's very little reinforcement of previous lessons.

Best Japanese program for the DS is the one that comes in the black case called something like *Kanji sono mama de..* or something like that.

Its pretty much a glorified dictionary but I keep it handy because I can draw in kanji I don't know and it picks it up. Great for translating stuff on the fly and a lot cheaper than the super expensive electronic styallus dictionaries.
