Kuniba ryu is actually an offshoot of Mugai ryu. Kuniba Shogo taught Mugai ryu to many people a number of years ago when he lived in the U.S. However, it was his own version of Mugai ryu, and it came to be called Kuniba ryu to differentiate it.
