Hi

I have a question for the wood experts out there. I bought a Jo staff from a martial arts supplier that said it was Japanese White Oak but the item I received was slightly longer and I think that I may have been sent the wrong item. My question then is how do I know if my Jo is actually Japanese White Oak? I ask because I also have a white Oak bokken that looks very differant to my new Jo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
