Why do you guys care if he gets a tatoo? He didn't say he was doing it to impress the Japanese nation. If he sticks with Kendo and goes to Japan to train ten years from now and most people think it's stupid, he can say "I was 19 and stupid" and they can all laugh over a beer about it.
