Larry Scanlon was head instructor for the Annapolis Kendo and Iaido club (Don Seto is head instructor for the Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo Club). As Rogers mentioned he was sandan in both iaido and kendo and was instrumental in organizing kendo and iaido opportunities in the Annapolis area. He was previously chosen to attend the Kitamoto Foreigners gasshuku as an SEUSKF representative. It was my understanding that he had intended to try for his iaido yondan in the next year. The SEUSKF wishes to express our condolences to his students, friends, and family. It is my understanding that friends at the Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo Club had a special iaido embu dedicated to Scanlon sensei last night to honor him. Rest in peace.
