I think that main problem is from the ignorant of stupidity of teachers. Most of PE teachers were ex sports players who spent most of their hours to practice to get in to university or compete at the local, regional or national competition. They rarely spend their time studying. I was amazed that how much US or North American PE college students study and they are very knowledgable. Unfortunately, PE teacher in both Korea and Japan are not like that. I am sure someone can correct me if I am wrong. But that was my experience when I went to middle and high school in Korea. We always get beat up by them all the time... It wasn't learning, it was rather humiliating....
