But in our dojo we have a "similar" pattern. At least 50% of the people who practice there (maybe up to 60%) are "computer people", meaning they have a academic background in computer science or similar.

Since we are very few here in Portugal I think this pattern can be attributed to the way people found us, through word of mouth basically. Nowadays we are watching the pattern become less and less evident.

Regarding the "artsy" type, we do have some in our dojo, mainly photographers (that I know of) but not a percentage large enough to infer a pattern.
