MNAs Imran Shah and Bilal Yasin have given statements to a team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that former Director General Haj Rao Shakeel had allegedly given a large sum of money as kickbacks to MPA Punjab Assembly Qadir Gilani, son of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, through the latter’s close associate Iftikhar Sukhera, DawnNews quoted sources as saying.

Sources said that despite Qadir Gilani’s name coming up, the FIA did not take the investigation in that direction.

However, speaking to DawnNews, Director General FIA Waseem Ahmed said that no MNA had taken Qadir Gilani’s name with regard to the Haj scam. — DawnNews
