Media v Media - The Battle Is Now
I thought for a moment about putting this topic in News and Politics, because frankly, it does warrant the title of news.
Recently, when I watched an interview of the editor of Gawker Stalker by Jimmy Kimmel (ironically on Youtube), I noticed something quite startling:
The open declaration by old media (broadcast/cable TV show) of disdain for new media (the internet/youtube etc).

It happened in a variety of ways:
1. The declaration by Jimmy that "I don't understand why anyone would buy advertising on a website".
2. The whole idea Jimmy presented of panic and mayhem being caused by mass interactive instant media (such as posting where celebrities are, which could lead to their being stalked in real life).
3. The whole idea Jimmy presented that posting things on the internet means that it probably isn't true. One guest says "Journalists at least try for the truth".
Try they might. There is a hell of a lot of slander and slant in the old media.
Number 1 is probably the key to it all. Advertising revenues being drained from old media must be causing them to panic. There seems to be a transition of power happening.
