Not much chance of that. Too many people know the hazards of this kind of work. This isn't the first off shore rig to fall down and go boom.

That is why i think it is likely a BS story. Sorcha Faal is an idiot that hoaxes a lot.

Regardless, given the torpedo story from the S. Korean official, it seems reasonable to look into this.

There are cases where such heinous acts are buried to prevent war. War isn't about getting even or settling debts. it is about making money. If there is nothing to be gained from war with N. Korea, the story, if true, would end up buried. Just like they have tried to do with the Polish President.
