No, I ain't looked at any of the info you cite. Given that, I just cannot believe the technology of 1944 successfully and clandestinely boosted men into space.
the US would have accomplished nothing had it not been for our securing German scientists throughout the 30's and 40's.

The area, for some reason, harbored such an amount of staggering brilliance that i find it hard to imagine.

Now, NASA says that they forgot how to get to the moon, and will have to start from scratch. Yeah, we are having a hard time just repeating 1968.

I have not verified it, but i have heard a story that after the Russians launched into space, the US decided that they would not remain flat footed. We put our best minds into it, and failed miserably for a few months. We brought in some of the exNazi's, and they had a workable test launch in two days.

RE: Paperclip, i wonder why you haven't really haeard of it? You were in college....why would that not be included in coursework? Does it not seem to be something that is noteworthy?

How about Project Highjump? We are told that the war ended, essentially, when we had the Nazi's surrender. Japan didn't concur, so we dropped the bomb. Within a couple of weeks combat operations had stopped. It was never mentioned that before the next winter, we launched the largest Naval operation in US history. Once again, this seems noteworthy. Not even a mention in history?
