RE: Paperclip, i wonder why you haven't really haeard of it? You were in college....why would that not be included in coursework? Does it not seem to be something that is noteworthy?

How about Project Highjump? We are told that the war ended, essentially, when we had the Nazi's surrender. Japan didn't concur, so we dropped the bomb. Within a couple of weeks combat operations had stopped. It was never mentioned that before the next winter, we launched the largest Naval operation in US history. Once again, this seems noteworthy. Not even a mention in history?
I certainly never was taught any of this stuff - only the standard dry fare. This part of history is a speciality niche, it would seem, and certainly isn't included in standard courses.
