It's about National ID Cards! It was a government conspiracy all along!

In the wake of 9/11, the government has tried to push a national ID card on all of us. The people raised so much hell they had to back off. Oh they still want that ID card so how do they do it? They agree that they must foment a such national crisis that the people will rise up and demand that the government do something.

What could we possibly use to get the people riled up? Well, let's see, there's that illegal alien thing that's been brewing for a while. Yes, that's it! We can't possibly deport twelve million illegals so we'll have to pass some bill that will let them stay here and work. If we do that then we will need to have some sort of database that employers can immediately access to prove the prospects are legal to work. For that to work though, there's going to have to be an "unalterable" ID card of some kind. We can do that!

Oh wait a minute. There are a lot of legal U.S. citizens that look like the illegals. How will we know if they are citizens or illegals? Well, we'll put in a provision that all hispanics will have to have the card. No, wait, that won't work. The ACLU will say we're discriminating. We'll just make everyone that works have to get a card.

You know, the children will have to get those cards too because the schools will have to know if the children are legal aliens since their parents will be working here legally.

That's it! The people want us to stop the illegals so we'll give them what they want, and we'll get what we wanted all along. Let's do it!

Is this why no one in the government seems to want to do anything about closing the border? Watch the government talking heads. They will invariably mention an "unalterable" ID card somewhere in their interviews.
