Default Jim Inhofe backs Rick Perry over 'mushy' Mitt Romney as anti-science caucus unites
Receiving over a million dollars in campaign donations from Exxon and other petroleum companies during his time in office surely hasn't affected Inhofe's stance on the issue one bit.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s White House bid has won the backing of the Senate’s leading climate change skeptic.

Among other reasons, Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe told a home-state Chamber of Commerce audience Wednesday that he can’t get behind the GOP’s presumed presidential front-runner. Inhofe said he “likes Mitt Romney, but he's a little mushy on environmental issues.”

Inhofe, the top Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, is planning to formally endorse Perry next week, the Tulsa World reported Wednesday.

...

Inhofe said Perry has the best shot among the GOP field of defeating President Barack Obama in the 2012 race, especially now that South Dakota Sen. John Thune is out of the running.

Inhofe said of Thune: “[H]e's taller than Obama is, he's better looking than Obama is, and he's the same age Obama is. He would have made a good candidate, but he's not running."
