Since the nation's unemployment figures include only those who are actively seeking a job, and Romney is not working by choice (because he doesn't need to work), for Romney to call himself "unemployed" is more than a bit disingenuous. He's most definitely NOT part of America's unemployed.

And even if the comment was made "tongue-in-cheek" I hardly think that the people hearing him who are truly unemployed and desperately in need of a job would have found it amusing. That he would have made the comment shows him to be insensitive and completely out of touch with the reality of the general population's concerns.
