I've actually met some Evangelicals who are Romney supporters in the last month or so, which surprised me. I hadn't heard of anyone but other Mormons supporting him until recently. Smear tactics don't normally work, because people see through them. I do see having two Mormons as running for president as being a step forward for the LDS faith. People will be more willing to learn about the Church.

Kennedy was smeared because he was Catholic.
