Thanks for this, I was just looking for one to post. Brilliant move on Reid's part. As TPM points out, it goes either of two ways: Either GOP Senators link arms and jump into the political suicide abyss together or they kick their supposed unified front to the curb and reveal that there are deep divisions in the party.
Senators are not nearly as beholden to Tea Party forces at their brethren in the House. Where House members are more focused on voicing positions that will play well in their own district, Senators need to represent the full state. House members can get away with posturing, but Senators really have to govern.
I'd be surprised if more GOP Senators don't join Susan Collins and oppose the Ryan budget. It'll be a real test of Mitch McConnell's rallying skills to see if he can keep any more Senators from jumping ship.
