The New York Times is reporting that Keith took a large exit bonus in exchange for a sort of non-compete wherein he agreed not to take an offer from another network for a certain amount of time. Similar to NBC's exit deal with Conan.

They also report that Keith will be launching a web show in the interim. That strategy has worked out very well for folks like Adam Carolla (for MTV/LA radio) and Leo Laporte (Tech TV/G4).
