It started with Drudge putting out the fictional numbers, then Beck parroting them, then Hannity and Limbaugh. Fox News dutifully picked it up and made it a topic of the day. By mid-day you had Michelle Bachmann on CNN saying these numbers were irrefutable because they'd "been reported in the press."

Right-wing echo chamber hard at work.
