As we only visit infrequently we had two flowerbeds created when we had the patio laid, one along the front house wall and one down the party wall of our Alba, we have Bouganvillea, Lantana and Jasmine which all thrives on being watered once a fortnight by our key holders, bouganvillea is a gross feeder and looks poorly if not fed so i feed it every time we visit and as a result needs a regular hard prune. Having some greenery attracts humming bird hawk moths, cicadas and we get sparrows and lizards amongst it.Its a lot less work than pots.
