As Keith says, from Jan 1st this year, the E111 has been replaced by the EHIC.

You can apply for the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) from http://www.dh.gov.uk/PolicyAndGuidan...avellers/fs/en

The EHIC is only for residents of the UK etc for treatment whilst abroad on holiday
