We have just returned from a long weekend in Gran Alacant, so were interested to see what the area next to the bars looked like now.

The area next to Jose and Marias looks tidy (or should I say tidier - needs planting) but the waste material has been heaped up down one end - not taken away. However walking down past Jose and Marias the mess along the frontage is really bad - bottles, paper you name it it's there - why don't the restaurant staff clean it up? Would you leave a mess around the edges of your front garden? It is very off-putting.

In addition to the mess, since we only had the weekend we ate out more than we normally would, but can honestly say the quality of the food was not good at all. Of course we didn't try them all - so there could be some gems awaiting us. Can anyone comment on a good place to eat in the Carabassi area - its just a convenient walk from our house. We would rather pay more for good food.

By the way, the weather was perfect, the beach was perfect - shame about the food!
