I have my own brisk criticisms against Islam (particularly in the Middle East) and against religious moderates in general, but thinking that religion should be a way to qualify (or disqualify) someone from service in a government is broken thinking.

Strange, you don't really hear anyone with a (D) after their name shouting that kind of nonsense.
