I don't see anything unprofessional here. I'm not familiar with Sikh customs... but as long as the coloring and size of the turban was Conservative in appearance, I don't think there's anything objectionable to it.

Sure I'm an atheist, a pretty vocal one at that - but I don't take issue with religious folks wearing their symbols - be it turbans, or religious bracelets (The Marine Corps is fanatical about eradicating religious bracelets. I'm frankly not sure why. Camp Lejeune is a very silly place.)
