I would very much like to believe that - but humans make perfect slaves. Tell them any bullshit story and they'll believe it.

As far as home defense, you bet. A pump action pistol grip is perfect. It does 2 things. It gives you a small enough barrel to move around your house, and the pump action lets the criminal know there is a shotgun coming his way and its now loaded. Everybody knows the sound of a shotgun chambering a shell!! Which is nice - but too large to carry around with me. And a handgun would have sufficient stopping power for your typical home intruder. Stealing a television isn't worth getting shot over. Also consider the vast majority of home invasions happen when the house is empty. Odds are, he isn't looking for a fight, he didn't know I was home.
