I read this and agree with the people that responded factually; however it sounds pretty ignorant to say stop throwing the race card. It was a question as to whether or not this particular scholarship is racist. The criteria is set, obviously non-whites need not apply.
Heres one for you, HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), ex: Howard University, Winston-Salem University, Delaware State University, to name a few, offer minority scholarships to non-blacks. Guess who qualifies? Non Blacks. So think before you label!
How is it ignorant to say the race card gets thrown around? It does. I see it a lot. If you say something even slightly construed as offensive to a black person or any minority it's racist but say it about white people and it's not racist. So how is that not throwing the race card around?

Also in one of the articles it states that part of the criteria is a person can't be "less than 25% white." So that means they could be the child of a black person and a white person, making them 50% white let's just say. I really doubt that anyone is 100% white or any skin color or ethnicity today anyway considering that, especially in the US during slavery, there was a lot of "mixing." But I don't think it's racist at all for there to be a white only scholarship from this group. If you want to set up a scholarship fund you set the guidelines. It's your money and if people donate to it, they must agree with you. Obviously don't apply for it then if you don't qualify. There were a lot of scholarships I didn't apply for before college because (gasp) I didn't qualify either my GPA wasn't a 4.0 or I didn't have enough activities. I go find something else.
