Default U.S. Warns Terrorists Might Try to Plant Bombs Inside of People
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011...inside-people/

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. government has warned domestic and international airlines that some terrorists are considering surgically implanting explosives into humans to carry out attacks, The Associated Press has learned.

There is no intelligence pointing to a specific plot, but the U.S. shared its concerns last week with executives at domestic and international carriers.

People traveling to the U.S. from overseas may experience additional screening at airports because of the threat, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

So there is no intelligence of a specific plot stating that this is possible but more of a "just in case?" Do they realize the planning it would take to implant someone with a bomb? I don't think that any of the terrorist groups have the funding, the knowledge or the wherewithal to pull this off. It's quite possible that the person could detonate before they even got to the airport.

I guess if we see a lot of reports of people being blown up then we have our "intel" to support it.

So this I just read:

But there is new intelligence pointing to a fresh interest in using this tactic, a U.S. security official told the AP. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security information.

I always love to read about "an official who spoke on condition of anonymity" to "discuss sensitive security information." But "new intelligence" pointing to a "fresh interest." Yeah it was probably one report that some random dude said "We should use people as bombs" or something. Yes if someone pulled this off, it could be very bad. I guess as long as the TSA doesn't start performing body cavity searches...
