Default Navy Ship Engine Fire in Maine
BATH — The Navy continues to investigate a fire that torched the stacks of a destroyer docked at Bath Iron Works late last week.

On Friday afternoon, a tower of smoke and flames stretched into the sky from the 9,200-ton future USS Spruance, DDG-111. Bath Iron Works officials deferred all questions about the incident to Naval Sea Systems Command (NavSea) in Washington, D.C.
