Thank you, put into context it's much easier to comment. Navy here so Army Times is not the first thing I turn to. Attempting to look at it through a secularized lens (not always easy to filter out personal biases) I still have difficulty understanding what the hubbub was about. If a concert that included religious themes in its music was not going to be well-received, common sense would imply it would also not be well-attended. Unless I missed something there was nothing indicating that attendance would have been compulsory. While we're at it we might as well ban all protestant/catholic religious services held underway on ships if that's the case.
