Nicely put AJ..... Has there ever been a viable 3 party canidate? Ross Perot was the closest that I can recall. Anyone else?

Not in recent memory at least. A whole lot more money standing behind the big two. Not easy to gain leverage when you don't have the resources to provide a rebuttal against a Super-PAC that portrays as the most racist-misogynistic-communist politician to ever grace Federal politics.
