Here are a couple of my recent doings:
For my computer art class, my first go at the "cliche" Photoshop star field:

cropped version:

-Always been interested in doing something like this, but had no idea how until I found a decent tutorial. I enjoyed it quite a bit and could see myself doing more... There's definitely a few problems with it, but for my first attempt, I'm relatively happy with the results.

For my independent drawing study: Inspired by Alice in Chains "Rooster"

-This was pretty difficult, it's one of few drawings I'm somewhat happy with where I wasn't just looking directly at something and drawing/copying it. I sketched out the composition I wanted first, and used about 6-10 photographic references to create the texture, folds, etc that I wanted.

-There are some things I'm not happy about with it, such as the face and helmet, but white conte and white charcoal pencils on black paper aren't very forgiving to work with. I might do some work with it in photoshop cleaning things up, fixing things, and adding a few things.

Luckily, I just ordered a Wacom Medium Intuos 4 and it should be here tomorrow! [thumbup]
