bungle there's a big difference between pleasantly drunk with friends and having a nice evening out and going out on the smash and causing all end of trouble.

example:

the military is the the latter, there's been loads soldiers arrested out here for drunken disorderly picking fights with locals and generally causing havoc in the local area and have been sent home as a result, their attitude is **** yeah lets get smashed...

I don't drink bitter, but in my experience people like to drink it slowly hence why you say you don't get drunk, lagers are different it goes down to easily ,most of the lagers these piss-heads you talk about, drink Stella which is too strong for some and after 3 pints most are already on their way to an alcohol fueld rampage that ends with a stay in A&E.

Colchester is bad for binge drinkers and violence but hey its full of para's-go figure-- actually anywhere there's a large military presence there is always trouble. its the drinking culture, plus immaturity and peer pressure.

but what I've mentioned above is not limited to the military civvies do it too.

its nice to sometimes let go and get drunk, but it depends on who you get drunk with that matters and sets the tone of the rest of the evening
