It is yes. By looking at the website you'd get a feel of that. I don't think they're necessarily being sensationalists with an article like the mad cow one.

I think the Guardian is worse than a tabloid personally, it's sensationalist left-wing clap trap that somehow manages to dedicate entire editions to the plight of the giraffe.

The Guardian, or 'Teh Grauniad' as it's known by its readers, is not a tabloid.

Nicknames started by Private Eye should never be allowed to gain traction.
