With all due respect folks, if you are complaining about that... you have never dealt with health insurance in the US.

Story:

I severely blew my knee and rushed to the ER. I got X-rays immediately and needed to get an MRI. My insurance would not cover an MRI at this particular hospital so I had to get them done at one across town.

Problem was, once I checked out of ER, I was no longer an emergency patient and had to schedule an MRI as a normal patient... took three days. Delayed my surgery almost a full week... and it still cost me over 5k USD out of pocket (after insurance).
