As an aside - what % of your gross income do you think is reasonable to spend on a car?
Depends how much you earn and how many family members you have to support.
Hypothetically,I'd allow up to 20% in my current circumstances. However, if I didn't get a company car I'd be rolling around in a 25 year old Fiat.
My car is a perk, not part of my basic package, so £160 to have a roughly £40,000 car on the drive and no servicing / insurance costs is a bit of a non-brainer.
